The pictures are out!

I know it’s been a month since we all put the mobile world to rights at the Swedish Beers party in London, but I’ve only just had time to upload the photos for you.

A few thank yous are in order – Firstly to the fabulous sponsors – Open Mobile Media, Inspiring Interns (thank you for bringing the ping pong table and organising Beer Pong. What a hoot!), Futurice and US Tax & Financial Services. Thank you to the venue – The Victoria Park Plaza Hotel – you did a great job for us. And to the volunteers who helped me run the event, especially Shafiq for the photos. Speaking of which…

Created with Admarket's flickrSLiDR.

They’re also up on Facebook too if that’s your thing.

I don’t yet have a date for the next Swedish Beers. Get in touch if you’d like to sponsor one.

Meanwhile, you might be interested in one of Cooladata’s upcoming events in London, Amsterdam and New York talking about behavioural analytics. There’s a webinar too for those of you who can’t meet in person. OK, so it’s not a beer and chat type event, but for those of you interested in monetising mobile (that’s most of you, isn’t it?), it may well be of interest. More info here.

Who will you meet on Monday night?

It’s just a few days until the next London edition of Swedish Beers and I expect you be wondering who is paying for all the beer. I’m pleased to announce our sponsor line-up. They are ready and waiting for you to join the merry throng, have a chat about all things mobile, or the weather, whatever suits and to enjoy a beverage or two. We’ll have wine, beer and soft drinks available.

open mobile media logoOur lead sponsor, once again, is Open Mobile Media. They’re hosting us at this year’s Open Mobile Summit London. You’ll meet Precksha, Manni, Ruthana, Ina and the team. They’re all lovely and they’ve all been working incredibly hard to put the conference together. I’m pleased to be chairing one of the sessions too. They’ll have the biggest batch of beer tokens and I know they’ll want to meet as many of you as possible to find out your thoughts on all things mobile and where it’s heading.

If you haven’t got your ticket already, I have an *exclusive* discount code for Swedish Beers and Heroes of Mobile readers and attendees. You’ll get £500 discount on a gold or silver pass. Use code 2515Swedish on the registration form.

futurice_logo_basicNext up, we have Futurice. They kindly supported Swedish Beers in Berlin this time last year. Futurice is a software design and development consultancy based in Finland, Germany and the UK. They believe in an open culture that fosters happy, motivated people. And they’re a very friendly bunch. They even have their own Futurice beer!

Sampo and his team will be on hand to talk mobile with you. They have tons of experience and some very cool projects they’ve worked on so I know you’ll enjoy chatting to them.

Basic CMYKJoining the sponsorship roster are newcomers to Swedish Beers, US Tax & Financial Services. Join Nora, Sitara, and Fran from US Tax & Financial Services. They provide advice, guidance, planning and compliance services for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts and estates for anyone subjected to the US tax system, wherever they may be in the world. If you're already doing business in the US or are planning to set up an office there, these guys can help you navigate the complexities of the tax system there and also the complexities of additional compliance and regulations. Avoid those penalties and talk to these guys. You'll also find they have more than a passing interest in mobile and technology and are very pleased to be supporting this edition of Swedish Beers.

inspiring logosAnd last but by no means least, we have inspiringinterns (internships and graduate recruitment) and inspiringsearch (digital recruitment and headhunting). If you’re a regular at Swedish Beers, you’re bound to have met one or more of the team already. Charlie and Benedict were on the door for our Barcelona party, CEO, Ben, has been attending Swedish Beers since they started back in 2001 and they’ve sponsored many times over the years. The team have been recruiting for the mobile industry for many years and are very knowledgeable and approachable.

If you haven’t signed up already, you can still do that over on Eventbrite or add yourself on Facebook. Doors will open at 6.30pm and we’ll be there for as long as people want to hang out.

Registration now open for Swedish Beers London!

swedish beers london may14Hurrah! Your favourite mobile networking party is back in London to bring you more beer and more chat! You’ll find the party at the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel from 6.30pm onwards on Monday 19th May.

The first sponsor is confirmed - that's our friends at Open Mobile Summit. You may have met them at the Barcelona party in February as they had a lot of beer tokens! They enjoyed meeting you so much that they're sponsoring the party again and that means we have a new, bigger location. We're going to be at the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel and the delegates at the Open Mobile Summit will be joining us too so there'll be a good mix of familiar faces and new friends. Don't worry, the party is still free to attend, it just means we have more room, and with a bit of luck, more beer too.

You can sponsor too!

I'm looking for more sponsors so talk to your FD, your CEO or whoever holds the budget and see if you can't join in the fun too on 19th May. Just like Barcelona, I'm offering some Start-Up specials as well and if you really fancy splashing the cash, there are combined Open Mobile Summit & Swedish Beers sponsorship packages. Get in touch with me to find out more.

Like our previous events, this is a relaxed evening, no formalities, no presentations, no business cards thrust in your face as soon as you arrive. Just come with an open mind, be prepared to see friends old and new, talk nonsense, enjoy a drink or five and have yourself a good time. Oh, and leave the ties, the corporate personas and the sales spiel at the door please. The Swedish Beers crew will be on hand to welcome you and the lovely people at Open Mobile Summit and the Victoria Park Plaza have promised to look after us well.
No need to RSVP unless you want to. There's no guest list, no tickets and there's no guaranteed entry. Just come and go as you please.

I've checked the Wi-Fi and it works and even though we're one floor down, the mobile signal seems to be good too so you'll be able to demo your latest mobile thing whilst enjoying your beer and a chat. We'll have the usual beer tokens and if they run out, we'll revert to a pay bar. There is a smoking area to the left of the main entrance of the hotel and is well signposted.

So let me introduce our first sponsors....

Open Mobile Media

I’m  delighted to welcome Open Mobile Media again to sponsor the London edition of Swedish Beers. As part of their sponsorship, they're giving away 10 Gold Passes to their upcoming Open Mobile Summit. It's free to enter the competition and the closing date is 23:59 on Thursday 1 May 2014. More information over on the Swedish Beers blog and click here to fill in the entry form.

You don’t have to register, but if you do, you’ll get a handy email reminder of the time, date and location. And it will also give me an idea of how many are coming and keep our sponsors happy.

Looking forward to catching up with you all

Announcing aql and Adjust

It really warms the cockles of my heart to welcome back sponsors year after year. And that’s exactly what I’m doing here now. When you get to Swedish Beers next week, you’ll need to keep your eyes open for the sponsors as they’re the ones with the free beer tokens. Go find them, and you’ll have free drinks!

In case you haven’t met them before, may I introduce (drum roll please) aql and Adjust.

aql is sponsoring us once again. Adam and his team will be on hand to chew the fat with you and generally make sure you have a lovely time. Who is aql ? Well they’re award-winning messaging specialists: They integrate mobile messaging and voice communications into your existing business processes. It just works. They have a rather fabulous data centre too in Leeds in a converted Methodist Church. That means you can also colocate securely in their datacentre (it is like Fort Knox in there!). They serve over a quarter of the FTSE100 and are as happy to work with SMEs as they are large corporates and public sector. They really are one of the friendliest bunch of people you could hope to meet and they really do know their mobile stuff – and not just the stuff they do. They really understand your business too.

ADJUST_byADEVEN_Logo4You may remember Adeven from last year’s Swedish Beers party and the one we held in Berlin last summer (the beer garden was lovely!). Well, they’ve rebranded as Adjust. They’ll tell you much more about it at Swedish Beers. Wanna talk analytics? Adjust.io is the way to go.

Mobile app tracking and analytics company adeven is rebranding to take on the identity of its driver product, adjust which is the leading business intelligence platform for mobile apps. As an official Facebook mobile measurement partner that is also integrated with over 120 other networks worldwide adjust ensures that marketers and publishers know exactly how their app is performing, absolutely anywhere that they choose to market it. Their BI platform displays insightful and actionable metrics on a streamlined dashboard offering key insights into in-app behaviour to reveal any campaigns most promising marketing sources.

Watch out for further sponsor and supporter announcements…

And if you haven’t registered already, or would like more information, then you can do that here.

Swedish Beers–Barcelona Edition 2014 are Go!

swedish beers 2014Oh my goodness, doesn't time fly? Here we are again in February which means only one thing - it's time for Swedish Beers! It’s all systems go for Mobile World Congress and Heroes of the Mobile Fringe. And as part of that, your favourite networking party is back to bring you more beer and more chat.

We do have some lovely sponsors lined up for you but there's room for one or two more if you fancy getting involved. Get in touch with Helen to discuss. There are a couple of start-up special deals available.

Like our previous events, this is a relaxed evening, no formalities, no presentations, no business cards thrust in your face as soon as you arrive. Just come with an open mind, be prepared to see friends old and new, talk nonsense, enjoy a drink or three and have yourself a good time. Oh, and leave the ties, the corporate personas and the sales spiel at the door please. The Swedish Beers crew will be on hand to welcome you as well as the friendliest bar staff in town.

No need to RSVP unless you want to. There's no guest list, no tickets and there's no guaranteed entry. Just come and go as you please. If you do register, it does mean that you can add the event to your calendar and search for it in your email and easily share with friends. Fill in the form below or go direct to the eventbrite page.

It is likely to get a bit busy at times. But don't worry, people will be coming in and out all evening. That’s kind of the point as we know there’s always a lot going on and you might want to check out more than one party. If it's very busy, there's no need to queue to get in. Just check out one of the other bars nearby and come back a little later when it's a bit less frantic.

There is a small cloakroom area at the bar, but it's not secure so leave the laptops in your hotel room or apartment where they will be safe and won't get in anyone's way.

The venue is our favourite haunt with the friendliest bar staff in town, Dos Trece -http://dostrece.net/ We'll be open from 7pm through until the early hours.

So let me introduce our sponsors....
